The Benefits of Chiropractic Therapy

On this World Health Day, we’re going to highlight the health benefits and other positive trends associated with chiropractic therapy.

Some Conditions That Can Be Treated by Chiropractic Therapy

Chiropractic Facts & Statistics

Many non-bias clinical studies have been conducted that scientifically prove the benefits of chiropractic therapy.

Results of a new study suggest that older adults’ access to chiropractic care may reduce medical spending on services for spine conditions.

The researchers, from various arms of the University of Michigan and Rice University, examined the effect of chiropractic care accessibility on health care spending. They first identified nearly 85,000 older adults enrolled in Medicare who had a spine condition and who relocated once between 2010 and 2014. They assessed the patients’ accessibility to health care for each year and estimated the effect of moving to an area of lower or higher chiropractic accessibility on spine-related spending adjusted for access to the practitioners.

Did you know that physicians in the United States recommend chiropractic therapy more than any other type of complementary health treatment? According to the National Center for Health Statistics, more than half of the 5,622 physicians who took part in this survey have recommended chiropractic therapy to their patients.

The American College of Physicians (ACP) recommends in an evidence-based clinical practice guideline published today in Annals of Internal Medicine that physicians and patients should treat acute or subacute low back pain with non-drug therapies such as superficial heat, massage, acupuncture, or spinal manipulation.
