Many of us have had to work from home recently; and there is not always an ideal workspace available to sit comfortably. We are going to provide you with some ergonomic and posture-related tips to help prevent the neck and back pain often associated with working from home.
Practicing Proper Posture and Improved Ergonomics
Practicing proper posture and improving the ergonomics of your workspace are two of the most effective ways to prevent both neck and back pain if working from home. When seated, try and rest your feet on the floor with knees and hips at a 90-degree angle. Also, maintain the arch in your lower back and make sure your hips are touching the back of the chair; this may require the aid of a pillow or lumbar roll. Be sure to take frequent breaks to walk around and change positions. If you’re using a computer, place the screen so that it is at eye level.
