Get Back in the Game with Chiropractic Care

Injuries are a common introduction to chiropractic care, especially sports injuries. Professional athletes, specifically football players fit into this group quite well. Not only does chiropractic care treat injuries, but it is also used to prevent an injury from occurring in the first place. Chiropractic care is a non-drug approach that can help diminish the need for prescription pain medications, such as opioids. Last year the American Chiropractors Association reported that 32 U.S. professional football teams use chiropractors to help keep players healthy and in the game.

Research shows many athletes choose chiropractic care for their health even after they have healed from an early injury that introduced them to a chiropractor initially. This was the case with one of the greatest football players in NFL history, 49er’s receiver Jerry Rice.

Since football requires a significant amount of durability for each game, chiropractic care contributes to that level of stability throughout a football player’s career. Few people put their bodies through the regular assault that football players do each week. They are constantly being tossed and tackled during practice and at game time. However, many NFL players, such as Jerry Rice and Joe Montana have stated that chiropractic care has been instrumental in keeping them in good condition, both on and off the field. Before Jerry Rice retired, he broke almost every wide receiver record in the NFL and was named MVP in Super Bowl XXIII. He was quoted in a statement saying that “he attributes his athletic longevity to vigorous exercise and chiropractic adjustments.”

Athletes need every bit of strength, speed and flexibility they can roundup to improve their performances on the field. Chiropractic care is one of the best ways for athletes to accomplish this.

Common injuries suffered in many sports can knock the spine out of alignment, causing athletic performance to be affected and furthermore triggering stress on joints, muscles, nerves, and discs. Anyone who plays sports can benefit from chiropractic care because when injuries happen, chiropractic care will relieve pain without the invasive approach of prescription drugs or surgery. By relieving the irritation between misaligned vertebrae, chiropractic treatment helps reduce healing time, so you can get back in the game sooner rather than later.
