Chiropractic + Foot Levelers = 40.4% Less Back Pain

A Conclusive New Study by the American Congress for Rehabilitation Medicine

A recent study, Shoe Orthotics for the Treatment of Chronic Low Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial, published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, confirmed that the combination of chiropractic treatment with the use of Foot Levelers custom orthotic inserts was a powerful and effective first-line treatment of lower back pain. One of the greatest benefits revealed in the study was that a 40.4% reduction in pain was achieved without the use of opioids or other potentially dangerous or addictive pain medications.

Significantly Less Lower Back Pain with Foot Levelers

Dr. Merckling has been helping his patients with Foot Levelers orthotics for years so the findings in this study come as no surprise. Kent S. Greenawalt, CEO of Foot Levelers, explains the methodology of the study in this short video.

Methodology of the Study

  • 225 subjects with low back pain were randomly assigned to one of three groups:
    • No treatment group
    • Foot Levelers shoe orthotic group
    • Foot Levelers plus chiropractic care group
  • Outcomes were assessed at 12 weeks, and at three, six, and 12 months
  • Improvements in both pain and in function as measured on the Numeric Pain Rating Scale and functional health status (Oswestry) scale
